Community Center
School – monument – community center – an emblematic building which is the calling card of Bratsigovo, firmly planted in the town’s center, has stood proudly above the town for over a century.
The construction of monument was the second large-scale acquisition for the town after 1945, given as a gift from the country for the town’s service and in memory of the hundreds of victims who deceased in the revolutionary battles during various wars.
The building of the culture center was conceived о n the “Pudarnitsa” hill above the “Sargovitsa” area. Authors of the project are the architects Zheliazko Stoikov and Vladimir Rangelov, and constructor Emil Popov. The construction began in 1954 with a goal of finishing the project in 36 months. The building covers an area of 1700 square meters and volume of 12,000 cubed meters. In the time of the construction, with economic goals in mind, the stairs leading to the future monument were removed. The buildings façade is known for it’s unique and majestic decorative. The lobbies of the cultural center are orated with rich mosaics and mural paintings from the painter Ivan Milchev.
The culture center contains a large theater with room for 404 people, a camera booth, practice rooms, dressing rooms, a warehouse, and a library with three sections – kids, art, and information.
